Welcome to www.ainsdale.info
website of Ainsdale Civic Society
Ainsdale Civic Society was formed in 2000 by a group of people who care about the
past, present and future of Ainsdale. Our Society motto is ‘Caring for Ainsdale’
and this is exactly what we do. From time to time we hold fundraising events, and
every penny raised is used solely for the benefit of Ainsdale and its residents.
But we do much more than raise funds...
Our website, ainsdale.info, aims to tell you what we have done, show you what we
do, and encourage you to help in what we are going to do! The NavBar at the top left
will show you the main pages, or if you would like to see all the pages, set out
in a convenient list, just click on Site Map, below.
So, read on, enjoy, and if you have any comments or suggestions, or you would like
to volunteer, please send us a message. Our feedback form will arrive automatically
if you click the scroll on the left!
Our Site Map shows how all the pages of our website are connected. Every page name
is a link directly to the page.

Can You Help? Yes, You Can!
There are thousands of people in our local area, and almost as many ways in which
any or all of you can do your bit to help improve life for some or all of those thousands.
On our ‘Can You Help’ page we will list some of those opportunities as they are notified
to us. If you can help, at all, please do - apart from the good it does, there is
a great deal of personal satisfaction to be gained!

11th OPEN GARDENS WEEKEND - 11th & 12th JULY 2015
We are holding our 11th Annual Open Gardens Week-End on the 11th & 12th July with
12 gardens open to view. Local residents open their gardens to allow you all to enjoy
a variety of different styles of gardens. The gardens are diverse and vary from a
woodland garden to cottage gardens. These are not the large gardens that you might
expect; rather they are extraordinary gardens in ordinary homes. However, the love
and attention which has been poured into these gardens, is obvious to the visitor.
This event is very popular and in past years visitors have travelled from many other
areas to enjoy the experience. There will be a vintage bus travelling between the
gardens which will leave Station Road approximately every 30 minutes for those ticket
holders who do not have transport or have difficulty in walking – this is a free
service courtesy of Howards DIY & Gardening.
The tickets, which are very reasonably priced at £5 per adult, cover admission to
all the gardens over the two days. Accompanied children under the age of 12 go free.
All ticket proceeds go to the Ainsdale Civic Society funds to help care for our Village,
and many charities also benefit from the week-end.
So come along and support our local gardeners and enjoy a week-end with a difference.
Tickets are available at the following Ainsdale shops: Howards DIY; Grayson’s Bakery;
The Chocolate Box; Brough’s Butchers. For further details please contact Iris on
